Deep Clean Fresh Start

Lesson Overview

In this lesson we’ll cover:

Deep Clean Fresh Start

  • Your Kitchen

  • The Rest of Your Home

Deep Clean, Fresh Start

When starting anything new, feeling organized and ready for the day is a huge confidence boost.

This includes your kitchen cabinets and extends far beyond to all of your spaces. Removing the clutter, junk, and excess will help you feel better in your living spaces and help you to make clearer and sharper decisions without the clutter distractions.

We challenge you to do a deep cleanse of your physical spaces. Below we go room by room with you.

Cleaning your entire home room by room likely won’t happen in an afternoon, so we ask that you block off one or two rooms a day for your onboarding week to clean, freshen, and let go of what you don’t need anymore. Let’s start your first program week fresh!

Your Kitchen

While flexible nutrition means no food is off limits, if you know something is tough for you to manage portion control and a risk for overindulging, take it off your menu at first, and re enter it at a later time.

Go in your pantry, and get rid of anything that is difficult for you.

Here are the steps to cleaning your kitchen:

  • Take everything out of your pantry, fridge, and freezer at once and put it on your countertop.

  • Get rid of...

    • Foods that make you feel guilty after you eat them

    • Foods you cannot have a responsible portion of

    • Foods that you crave when you are feeling emotional

    • Anything that tastes good in the moment but makes you feel physically sick afterwards

    • Anything that has expired. I know you have a bag of chips in there that has been stale for 3 months.. Toss it.

  • Wipe down your pantry & fridge. There is nothing like a clean start for a clean life!

    • For packaged foods that you are keeping, take note of their nutrients. How many carbs, fats, protein, sugars? Does anything surprise you?

  • Put back all of the nutritious food you have leftover, in an organized way.

    • Now that you know what’s in your home, you can utilize that food and identify what’s missing when making your grocery list!

The Rest of Your Home

We’re going to take a very similar approach for the rest of your home.

An organized home keeps an organized mind. We truly believe this. Think about how great it feels to walk into a fresh, clean hotel room. It’s instantly relaxing between the organized space, fresh scents, and lack of clutter.

Below are some recommendations to help get you started.

Understand decluttering your entire home is not going to happen in an afternoon. Dedicate a day this weekend or next to organizing your home, go room by room in order of importance to you. Set yourself up for a clean start.

The Bedroom

Sleep is your recovery. Recovery is imperative for mood, weight loss, lean muscle gain, brain function, etc.

  • Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, & clean.

  • Put away all laundry and declutter knick knacks on your dressers. Clean out your nightstands. Throw out junk and find a home in a drawer for all the daily random items you usually leave on your dressers.

  • Put fresh bedding on your bed. Send your pillows through the wash and dryer.

  • Dust and wipe down all surface areas and woodwork. Vacuum your floor.

  • Place an aroma diffusor on your dresser to freshen the scent of this room.

The Closet

  • Organize your closet and toss or donate anything that you have been holding onto for too long.

The Bathroom

  • Go drawer by drawer and toss, wipe, reorganize.

  • You start your day in the bathroom, so make sure it is clean, organized, and functional.
