Have you ever seen a HOT PINK smoothie or smoothie bowl and wonder where that gorgeous natural color came from? It's from the Pitaya fruit (also know as Dragon fruit).
Pitayas come in a few varieties and not all of them have that amazing fuchsia magenta color.
In the summer, you can usually find fresh Pitaya at most local or specialty food markets. Personally, I love the frozen Pitaya packets from Whole Foods. They're a great option to keep year round in your freezer and because they are frozen, you can add less ice to your smoothies.

PINK PITAYA SMOOTHIE

TIME: 2 MINUTES
1 frozen pitaya packet or 1 small scoop pitaya cubes
½ cup strawberries
½ frozen banana
½ cup peaches
½ cup FAGE Greek Yogurt
1 TBSP almond butter
6 oz. water
handful of ice
Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth (about 30 seconds).
