RECIPE

PINK PITAYA SMOOTHIE

Have you ever seen a HOT PINK smoothie or smoothie bowl and wonder where that gorgeous natural color came from? It's from the Pitaya fruit (also know as Dragon fruit).

Pitayas come in a few varieties and not all of them have that amazing fuchsia magenta color.

In the summer, you can usually find fresh Pitaya at most local or specialty food markets. Personally, I love the frozen Pitaya packets from Whole Foods. They're a great option to keep year round in your freezer and because they are frozen, you can add less ice to your smoothies.
