1. GO TO BED EARLY.
Most people are sleep deprived and get far less sleep than their bodies require. The average adult needs 7-9 hours of sleep a night. The best way to get enough sleep is to get to bed earlier. Getting in the habit of going to sleep early will allow you to get the sleep your body requires.
2. DRINK A FULL GLASS OF WATER WHEN YOU WAKE UP.
Because you haven't had water since before you went to sleep, you are always dehydrated when you wake up. Drinking two cups of water when you wake up can increase your metabolism by 30% in 30-40 minutes, according to a 2003 study by The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
3. SCHEDULE 30 MINUTES "YOU" TIME FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
Block off 30 minutes of "YOU" time first thing in the morning...During this time, you can enjoy your coffee or tea, catch up on the news, journals, articles, blog posts or however else you would like to ease into your day.
By scheduling this time every morning, you are able to start the day off feeling calmer and more satisfied than rushing into your work.
4. LEARN TO MEAL PREP.
Learning to meal prep for the week will save a tremendous amount of time, energy, and frustration throughout the week. More importantly, meal prepping helps to keep you on track with your healthy nutrition plan, especially as the day gets crazy.
5. TURN OFF YOUR WORK AT THE END OF THE DAY.
Turning off work is the most challenging habit to break but also the most important. Allowing yourself personal time away from work and emails allows you to mentally recharge and bring a fresh perspective to your projects.
