Feeling S-T-R-E-S-S-E-D? Who has time for that?

Not Me!

Everyday we encounter many potential stressors: where we live, our careers, family, friends, relationships, traffic...pretty much anything and everything can lead to stress.

The first step with managing stress to to look at your situation and decide what stressors in your life can you completely let go?

  • Hate your job? Get a new one!
  • Don't like the city your live in? Move.
  • Does a friend or family member cause you stress? Limit you interactions with them.

These are all situations where you have a choice and are on some level controllable.

For these situations cutting out the things that stress you the fuck out from your life is necessary and OK to do (I give you permission!). There are some situations however where you may be unable to completely cut out the stress and instead need to implement coping mechanisms.

It took me a really long time to realize that how we react to stressors matters more than the actual stressors themselves.

This list of 101 ways to cope with stress is courtesy of Brett Phillips, a high school psychology teacher in Oxnard, California. Phillips has been handing his guide for stress management to students for 10 years and it recently went viral in September when one of his students shared his helpful tips on Twitter.

Which of these tips are you going to implement today?
