SCHEDULE YOUR WORKOUTS

To kick off our 30 Day Challenge, it's only right that we dedicate our first Fit Tip of the month to planning.

WHAT TIME ARE YOU WORKING OUT TODAY?

Planning is essential for success, not just in your career but also in your health and fitness.

We're all so busy and super spread thin these days. It's hard enough juggling a career, home responsibilities (somebody has to shop for groceries, do laundry, and clean...), and a personal life but add on a family, pets, kids (school events, soccer practice, etc!) and no wonder so many people can't find time for fitness.

IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE TIME, YOU NEED TO MAKE THE TIME.

Open your weekly calendar and figure out what your schedule looks like. Your work schedule, your very important appointments (doctor, dentist, children's practices or events, etc), and any other commitments you have this week. Now look at the open spaces each day and carve out 25 minutes to an hour for you. Maybe it's during your kid's nap time, maybe this means bringing your workout clothes with you to your job so you can change and workout before you go home.

Maybe your schedule is so tight that you have to wake up a little earlier to get it in. This is tough at first...but it will get better!

I personally know because when I worked in Corporate America my schedule was all over the place. 530am was the ONLY time I could guarantee I would be able to workout each day.

Whatever you situation is, figure out your plan of attack.

Once you schedule in your workouts, treat these workout appointments like any other very important meeting on your schedule. That means, DO NOT CANCEL. Show up even when you don't feel like it!

At first, this may be really hard to do, especially if it requires you waking up even earlier. But it will get better!

These 25 minutes to an hour may be the only thing that you do for yourself all day. This time is yours and it's ok to step away from life and do this for yourself. In fact, it's necessary! You can only give so much and you cannot give your best if you're tired, burnt out, sick, lethargic, depressed. Fitness is esstential performing at your personal best.

You'll be a better daughter/son, sister/brother, significant other, parent, worker...You'll be a better person overall if you take care of yourself first.

Open up those calendars and start scheduling those workouts for this week!

GOOD LUCK ON DAY 1 OF #GETLEAN2016 !
