Heading to the beach or pool this weekend? Wondering what you should pack in your cooler?

Here's my Top 4 must packs to have healthy options on hand:

1) PROTEIN POWDER. Protein powder is my #1. When you're at the beach or pool, finding healthy protein sources can sometimes be a challenge. I like to feel in control by having my own protein option with me at all times. The great thing about protein powder is that it doesn't need to be chilled and all you need to do is add water.

Pack a few single serving packets or make your own single serving packets by placing a few scoops in plastic sandwich bags. 

2) APPLES. Apples are my favorite packable fruit. Easy to throw in a cooler, bag, or purse, they are perfect for on the go. Combined with protein powder, they make a great snack or mini meal option. 

3) ALMONDS. Almonds are a great source of healthy fat and protein. They help to keep you satiated and are a perfect snack to hold you over between meals. 

4) EXTRA WATER. Do yourself a favor and pack extra water. A good rule of thumb is pack double the amount of water you think you'll drink. When it's hot and we are sweating, we get dehydrated quicker and need to replenish more frequently.
